How to Brighten your Smile with Veneers

If you've been thinking about making your smile even more fabulous, you may have thought about veneers, or perhaps your dentist has recommended them to you as a cosmetic procedure. Whether you have spacing in between your teeth that you want to get rid of, or want to remedy discolored or misshapen teeth, veneers can help you to get that whiter, brighter smile you've always dreamed of.

You can also arrange to have veneers put in if your teeth are chipped or jagged, or if you have had new teeth to grow in that have caused crowding.

And, if you don't want to get braces, you can arrange to have veneers as an orthodontic procedure so that your teeth will naturally be straightened over time. But, before you make the appointment to have your veneers put in, there are a few things you should know.

Veneers are essentially shells for the teeth that are the same colors as naturally white teeth, and are placed over your teeth in order to improve your smile. The veneers should give your teeth a very straight and smooth finish.

Your veneers are prepared by your dentist, and they are based on the mold that is most recommended for your mouth shape and the size of your teeth.

While you may not think that you will ever want to take the veneers out, you should still be aware that, for the most part, the procedure can not be reversed. This is mainly because some enamel must be taken from your teeth in order for the shell the stay, and to make sure that the veneers fit the way they are supposed to.

It's also a good idea to check with your health insurance provider to make sure that this process will at least be partially covered by the insurance company. Every insurance company may not honor the request, since this can be considered a cosmetic procedure and may not be considered 'necessary'.

You should also find out how to care for your veneers after the procedure has been done. Your dentist may recommend that you stay away from foods and drinks that may stain your teeth, such as teeth, coffee, or wine, and you may want to avoid fruits that will stain the teeth, such as berries or certain rich sauces.

Remember to discuss every detail of the process with your dentist so that you know exactly what to expect after the process is over. In no time, you'll be enjoying your beautiful smile-along with your friends and family.
